Sometimes children and young people can find it difficult to put their thoughts and feelings into words. Drawing and Talking offers a gentle, non-directed approach, giving them a safe and consistent space to explore and express themselves at their own pace.
There is no need for a child to be good at drawing. The focus is not on artistic ability, and drawings are not interpreted. Children and young people are given the time and space to work at their own pace.
Drawing and Talking may be considered for children and young people who are experiencing worries, anxiety, low confidence or self-esteem, bereavement or loss, friendship difficulties, changes within family life, school-related worries or other circumstances affecting their emotional wellbeing.
One-to-one Drawing and Talking is offered as a structured programme of 12 sessions. Consistency is an important part of the support, and sessions take place weekly wherever possible.
The private fee is £360 for the full 12-session programme.
Sandplay offers children and young people another creative way to express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to communicate through words alone.
Using sand and miniature objects, the child or young person can create and explore within a calm and supportive space. The approach is child-led and non-directed, allowing them to work at their own pace without pressure to explain or talk about what they create.
One-to-one Sandplay is offered as a 12-session programme at £360.
I work with schools and organisations looking to provide additional emotional wellbeing support for children and young people.
Alongside one-to-one support, I can offer Advanced Practitioner group sessions for small groups of 6–8 children. The group programme runs over 6 weeks and costs £90 per child for the 6 sessions (£15 per child, per session).
I can also provide support within schools and organisations at a day rate of £150. Packages can be discussed according to the needs of your school or setting.
